Frequently Asked Questions About Yates Performance Training's Personal Training Services

If you're ready to transform your body faster than anything else you've tried before with the San Joaquin Valley & east bay's premier home personal training program and have a few questions first. Here are the answers.

Q: What Can Your Personal Training Program Do For Me That Anything Else Can't Do?

A: Most fitness programs use a "one-size-fits-all" approach to achieving a particular goal. The problem with this approach is that it may work well for one person but not for another. You have unique, individual needs that must be addressed to achieve and maintain the goal you want. Unfortunately, most programs fail to identify and address your unique needs.

I identify the specific areas you need to address so you can get the results you want quickly, safely and permanently.

Q: Can't I Get The Same Results Working Out At The Gym?

A: Yates Performance Training is very different from your typical gym workout because I don't use any of those machines that you see at most gyms.

The reason why is because most of the machines at health clubs and gyms are completely ineffective at changing your body the way you want.

Getting results from your fitness program isn't about which machine you use, it's from having a fully customized program specifically designed for your unique needs.

Q: How Long Will It Take Before I See Results?

A: Honestly, it all depends on what your goal is and how committed you are to achieving it. Obviously, if your goals is to lose weight it will take a lot longer to lose 30 pounds than it will to lose 10 pounds.

But, if you follow the plan I design for you, you can expect to feel results happening from your first workout and you'll start seeing changes in the first few weeks.

Q: Do I Have To Buy Expensive Equipment?

A: No. You will get the results you want with the equipment you already have, your own body weight and maybe a pair of light dumbbells. I can provide any extra equipment needed at no cost to you. All you need is some open space to move around.

Q: I Have A Busy Schedule; How Long Do The Workouts Last?

A: The workouts that have proven to be most effective last about 45 minutes. But, I have to say they are not easy. In about 45 minutes you'll get quick-paced, challenging and fun workouts that are always different and you'll see results fast.

Q: Why Will Your Program Work For Me When Every Diet And Workout I've Tried In The Past Has Failed

A: My clients come to me because they are confused and frustrated that their approach isn't working. But, that's just it. Regardless of how many approaches you've tried before, you were just using the wrong approach.

But, it's not your fault. The approach you took simply failed to address your specific needs to achieve your goal. But, I'll put together a fully customized fitness program for you that addresses your individual needs to get you results quickly and safely.

Q: Will You Help Me With My Nutrition?

A: Yes. Nutrition is absolutely an essential part of achieving any fitness goal and you just cannot out train a poor nutrition plan.

I will clear up any confusion about your nutritional needs and put a plan together to get you on the fast track to achieving results.

Q: Can You Work With My Injuries?

A: Absolutely. Not only can I work with your injuries, but I can help you completely eliminate or greatly reduce them.

Q: I've Tried Doing Exercises To Strengthen My Areas Of Pain But It Didn't Work. How Can You Help Me?

A: One of my areas of expertise is in post-rehab exercise. Many old injuries and nagging pain symptoms are actually caused by muscular imbalances that force stronger muscles to overcompensate for weaker muscles. This repeptitive pattern creates an unbalanced body and increases stress to your muscles and joints resulting in a cycle of chronic pain and injuries.

I can customize a workout focused on properly balancing your body which will help eliminate or greatly reduce your specific injuries.

Q: How Much Does Your Program Cost?

A: The program is actually very reasonable. The investment depends on which program you participate in. Yates Performance Training currently offers in-home personal training, fitness boot camps and corporate fitness programs.

But, you won't have to pay the large cost most private studios charge nor will you be asked to pay a large sum of money for a 'package' of training sessions.

You can pay as you go and you're not obligated for any period of time.

Q: I Quit Working With A Personal Trainer Because All I Got Was The Same Boring Routine. Is That What You Do?

A: Absolutely not. My programs are not based on the typical "one-size-fits-all" approach that are so commonly used. That means I understand that you can't get the results you're looking for from the same old routine over and over or by me holding a clipboard and checking myself out in the mirror.

Your workouts have to be different, challenging, progressive and exciting in order to transform your body from where you are now to where you want to go. My workouts are just that and more without neglecting the main objective which is getting you results now.

Q: How Many Times A Week Do I Need To Workout With You?

A: In most cases, 2-3 days a week is enough. You may need to do a couple of additional light activity or stretching days on your own if anything else.

But, if that's needed I'll guide you right through it so you'll know exactly what to do. I'll be there for you every step of the way.

Q: Do I Need To Get A Gym Membership?

A: Not at all, I'll help you understand how to get an effective body transforming workout from your home using nothing but your own body weight and maybe a pair of dumbbells.

But if you want to get a gym membership to do some additional lighter activity or a fitness class it may be a worthwhile investment.

However, the typical cardio workouts most people do for 60 or more minutes in their 'fat burning zone' are actually not very effective for changing your body.

Q: Isn't It Better To Do Cardio In Your Fat Burning Zone To Lose Fat?

A: This is one of the biggest misconceptions around. Actually, doing too much cardio in your 'fat burning zone' can make you lose muscle, increase the likelihood of injuries and store more body fat rather than lose it.

The truth is that just doing cardio is not an effective way to transform your body. Just look around any gym or health club at all the people doing cardio and ask yourself if their bodies have really changed in the past 3, 6 or 12 months.

Instead, you'll see that you're getting better results and faster with my home personal training program than you ever did doing cardio.
